Water Conservation Winner & Student Serve

Student Grayson Wegner won the Mayor’s Water Conservation poster contest while he was a fifth grader at Adams. His poster was displayed on a billboard.

At Adams School we participated in the 2011 LPS Student Serve Project on Tuesday, September 27. Kindergartners and third graders made care packages to send overseas to one of our kindergarten parents serving in the armed forces. First Lieutenant Jason Teague has been on Active Duty in the U.S. Army since 2002 where he began his military career as a 91 Whiskey (combat medic). He commissioned as an officer in 2009 having graduated from the University of Nebraska in May of 2009, and his branch is Medical Service Officer. He is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas currently serving in Iraq since February 2011. The first and fourth graders made crafts to share with the residents at Gramercy Hill, the home of Lt. Col. Paul Adams for whom our school is named. The second and fifth graders went outdoors to clean up the Adams grounds by picking up trash. We have a large area with lots of wind, and appreciate these children helping to make our outdoor space litter-free.
