Forensic scientists use DNA, or Deoxyribosenucleic Acid to connect suspects to crime scenes. It's a blueprint for making each of the cells in your body. Each person's DNA is entirely specific towards themselves. This helps Crime Scene Investigators, because if you leave any of your DNA at a crime scene, you're definitely a prime suspect. Fingerprints are another tool Crime Scene Investigators use in tracking down a criminal. Like your DNA, fingerprints are entirely specific to you. No one has the exact same fingerprint. When you touch an object, oils found on the your fingers will get transfered to the object. By using special tools, investigators can make these prints visible.

Gloves are always used by the people that will be handling the Crime Scene, or the evidence. This is because the investigators or the scientists could leave their own fingerprints or destroy fingerprints or DNA on the evidence.

It's important that the public do not contaminate the Crime Scene, if they do, they could leave DNA or fingerprints that could make them suspects, even if not guilty.
